We are located in the mailbox. You will find us across the canal to Brindley place. We’re 11minute walk from New Street station. Our exterior background of the restaurant is black and gold which imitates the Mayan’s jewellery. Our full address is: The Mailbox, 170 Wharfside St, Birmingham, B1 1RL.

As we are are located in the mailbox, you will find parking on the lower ground floor called Q-car park and you can also park across the streets around mailbox which is free of charge after 6pm-8am.

Yes. The main restaurant space is fully accessible, with accessible bathrooms.

All our chicken, lamb and beef are halal. We only work with trusted suppliers and source our chicken and lamb locally from accredited halal butchers who have worked with our sister restaurant Qavali for many years. We ensure they are regularly audited and that their halal certification is maintained. We sometimes get asked if we are halal certified. As we are a restaurant and play no part in the slaughter or butchery process, we do not feel this is necessary. Our meat suppliers all have halal certification and we feel that this is sufficient for us and our guests.

We can accommodate a wide variety of special dietary requirements and offer a range of dishes suitable for different needs. We provide a full allergen index and our staff are always happy to help if you have additional queries.

Whilst we follow strict practices to avoid cross-contamination of allergens, please note that there are a large number of dishes prepared in our kitchen which do include nuts, gluten, seafood or other allergens. Our food may not be suitable for someone with a severe allergy.

If you can arrange it, we can host it! We’re always happy to accept large bookings and our venue is perfect for any kind of celebration or special events. For parties of 8 and above, we provide a set menu. This is suitable for large bookings and make planning a group meal easier as we also require a preorder.

We require a cancellation fee to secure your booking. This is non-refundable unless notified 24hours prior to your booking.

Our set menu consists of two or three courses per guest and our appetisers and sides are to share.

Children of any age are welcome in our restaurant during any time of our opening hours. We have several highchairs for use at your request. Please be aware that the Mayan operates Tulum night DJ on Friday’s and Saturday’s at 20:00 so, the environment in our restaurant is lively and loud.

Not at present. Our guests usually order from our sides and starters for their little ones. We highly recommend our tacos.

Guests are always welcome to bring any kind of celebration cake. We would usually ask that these are brought to our venue no earlier than one hour before your visit. For any special arrangements, please get in touch in advance. Our staff will sing a soulful Happy Birthday if you’d like. We also provide candles for the cake if needed.

Guests are always welcome to bring balloons or decorations for the table, or any kind of celebration cake. Please ensure these do not pose any safety risks. We do not provide any décor ourselves and we would usually ask that these are brought to our venue no earlier than one hour before your visit. Guests are fully responsible for the use of their décor, flowers and cakes. We will of course assist with our complimentary cake service alongside a surprise special card. For large bookings from 8 and above, it is mandatory to pre-order from our set menu.

We require the pre-order to be sent to our email three days prior to your reservation.

Yes, we have a fully stocked bar. Please note we operate a Challenge 25 policy at all times. As we keep a halal kitchen, our cocktail bar is in a separate location in our restaurant.

Of course! We have a cocktail bar where guests are welcome to enjoy a few drinks and/or nibbles. We also have the ceiba tree area for you to sit on a table and enjoy our services.

We do not have a private dining area however we have the Mayan temple which is potentially private and can hold up to 24-26 guests. Our Mayan temple has dimmed lights with green architecture which imitates the maya civilisation.
